Masked Owl | Organic Staple T-shirt
The masked owl is Australia’s largest barn owl and looks like it’s wearing a spooky heart-shaped face mask (hence the name). With massive dark eyes and super-quiet wings, it hunts at night by listening for tiny sounds and can snatch rats, birds and small possums straight off the ground. It nests in big hollow trees and can live for decades in the wild — but land clearing and the loss of old-growth nesting trees are significant threats. There are five races, two of which are endangered. This design is of the relatively widespread novaehollandiae. Fun fact: its hearing is so precise, it can catch prey in complete darkness without ever seeing it.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
