Insects are the unsung heroes of Australian ecosystems. They pollinate native plants, recycle nutrients and provide food for countless other species, making life as we know it possible. Australia is home to more than 20,000 described insect species, with thousands more still waiting to be discovered!

Please note that this page also features arachnids, which we know are not insects. We just weren't sure if everyone would be as familiar with arthropods as they are with insects.
