The black swan is one of Australia’s most iconic waterbirds, instantly recognisable by its striking black feathers, bright red bill and impossibly graceful glide across lakes and wetlands. Found throughout much of the country, these social birds feed on aquatic plants by dipping their long necks beneath the water’s surface. Black swans form strong pair bonds and are often seen moving together in perfectly coordinated fashion. Healthy wetlands are essential for their survival, and organisations like Wetlands International work to protect these important habitats. Despite their calm, elegant appearance, they can be surprisingly aggressive when defending a nest — especially if you ignore the warning hiss.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
