Greater Bilby | Organic Staple T-shirt
The greater bilby is a shy, nocturnal marsupial with silky blue-grey fur, oversized ears and a long, pointed snout perfectly designed for sniffing out insects and bulbs beneath the desert soil. Once widespread across Australia, it now survives mainly in arid regions, where it digs spiral burrows that help it escape both heat and predators. Feral cats and foxes, along with habitat changes, remain major threats — but organisations like the Save the Bilby Fund are working hard to protect populations and restore safe habitat. Fun fact: bilbies are such champion diggers that a single animal can move tonnes of soil each year, helping to keep desert ecosystems healthy.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
