Quenda | Organic Staple T-shirt
The quenda, also known as the southern brown bandicoot, is a busy little marsupial that spends its nights digging for insects, fungi, roots and other tasty treats. Found in south-west Western Australia, it uses its long snout and powerful front claws to turn over leaf litter and soil, helping to aerate the ground and spread nutrients as it forages. Once in decline, quenda populations have benefited from habitat protection and predator control, though they still face threats from urban development and introduced predators. Organisations like Darling Range Wildlife Shelter play an important role in rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for injured native wildlife, including species like the quenda. A single quenda can dig hundreds of small holes in a night — essentially providing free landscaping services wherever it goes.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
