The superb fairy-wren may be tiny, but the breeding male is impossible to miss, flashing electric-blue feathers and a confident upright tail as he darts through shrubs and gardens across eastern and southern Australia. These social little birds live in family groups and feed mostly on insects, constantly on the move as they forage close to the ground. Although still common, they thrive in areas with dense native vegetation, and organisations like Greening Australia play an important role in restoring habitat and supporting healthier landscapes for species like this. In a charming twist, males often present females with colourful petals — sometimes yellow or pink — as part of their courtship display.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
