The red-bellied black snake is one of eastern Australia’s most recognisable snakes, with glossy black scales and a vivid red belly that flashes when it moves. Usually found near wetlands, creeks and forests, it feeds on frogs, fish and other small animals. Despite its intimidating look, it’s generally shy and prefers to slip away rather than confront people. Protecting healthy wetlands and waterways helps species like this thrive, and organisations like Australian Wildlife Conservancy work to conserve the habitats many native animals rely on. Interestingly, red-bellied black snakes are immune to the venom of the deadly eastern brown snake — which means they sometimes eat them.

Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
