The Hercules moth is a true titan of the moth world, earning its title by being one of the largest moths on the planet! Native to the rainforests of northern Queensland, Australia, this giant can have wingspans stretching up to 25–30 cm, with elongated tail-like extensions that make it look like a mythical creature soaring through the night sky. The Hercules moth’s larvae feast on eucalyptus leaves, but as an adult, it doesn't eat at all—its sole focus is on mating and continuing the species.
