The shingleback skink is one of Australia’s most unmistakable reptiles, with its chunky body, armour-like scales and a short, stumpy tail that looks remarkably like its head—a handy trick for confusing predators. Found across southern and western Australia, these slow-moving lizards feed on flowers, fruits, insects and snails, often wandering through bushland in search of a meal. Shinglebacks are famous for forming long-term pair bonds, with many couples reuniting year after year during the breeding season. Protecting healthy native bushland is essential for their survival, and organisations like Bush Heritage Australia help conserve the habitats they depend on. Despite looking like they'd rather take the day off, shinglebacks can live for more than 50 years—proving that taking life slowly isn't such a bad strategy after all.

Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
