The superb lyrebird is one of the world’s greatest mimics, famous for the male’s spectacular tail and his ability to copy almost any sound he hears — from other birds to camera shutters and even chainsaws. Found in the forests of south-eastern Australia, it spends most of its time on the ground, scratching through leaf litter for insects, spiders and worms. Healthy, undisturbed forest is essential for their survival, and conservation groups like BirdLife Australia help protect the habitats these remarkable birds depend on. Some lyrebirds perform entire sound “remixes,” blending multiple species’ calls into one flawless, fast-paced performance that can go on for minutes.
- Fabric: Mid weight, 100% combed organic cotton (15% viscose in marle colourways) sustainably grown without herbicides or pesticides.
- Fit: Regular fit with a crew neck.
- Construction: Side-seamed, GOTS-certified, with neck ribbing, shoulder-to-shoulder tape, and double needle hems. It is also pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.
Care- for maximum print life:
- Turn inside out: Always invert your shirt before putting it in the wash to reduce friction against the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) ink.
- Cold & gentle: Wash the garment on a cold cycle (under 30°C) on your machine's gentlest setting.
- Mild detergent only: Use standard, mild washing powder. Avoid heavy-duty detergents, enzymes, and bleaching agents (even non-chlorine ones, if possible).
- No softeners: Do not use fabric softeners, as these can strip or degrade the coloured inks.
